Politics: Republic governed by woman Dilma Roussef since 2011. Economically liberal country, much like United States

Security issue: I'm sure you heard about it before... Mugging can happen anywhere in Brazil. Take little cash with you to give if assaulted. You'd rather use taxis by night. Always watch your back and around you, don't get too drunk when you're alone. Avoid poor neighborhoods (favelas) and isolated places. That being said, have a nice trip !

 | | Football, Religion and Samba : Brazilian perfect Mix |
|
|
Things to do: Explore Rio marvelous sites (Corcovado Christ, Sugar loaf, beaches, Lapa tramways in the hills), have a churrasco (barbecue) outside in a crowded and tremendous churrascaria (steak house), take a trip to North-Eastern dune landscapes (Jericoacoara, Canoa Quebrada) and let the wind blow your kite surf, visit the Amazonia on a boat up to Parintins to join the island Festival in June...
Big country, big opportunities. Nature is predominant.
Music: THE culture of Brazil, literally. Axé from Bahia, Electro, Frevo, Forro, Funk Carioca, MPB, Pagode, Rock, Samba, Sertaneja (Country), and many more...
You will discover and enjoy all the styles you could even imagine. Diversity in Women, diversity in Musics.
Weather: Mostly TROPICAL. Depending on the latitude. North and North-East regions are always hot, sometimes dry, sometimes rainy. South-East (Rio, Sao Paulo) can be fresh at night from July to September. South of Brazil (Curitiba and below) looks more like Southern Europe climate (with reversed seasons of course).
